The good news is that we have added nearly a meter of snow on top of our October facet layer in the upper cottonwoods. Adding this much snow will slowly allow the weak grains at the base to gain strength it is just going to take time. More suspect areas would be outside of the upper cottonwoods where the Thanksgiving storm did not produce as much snow leaving those areas more thin and slower to strengthen. I found a deteriorating temperature crust at the top of the weak layer with the weakest snow right below it. I was getting propagation in my ECT tests at the facets below the crust.
