Weather Comments
Another calm day in the Wasatch under mostly sunny skies. Morning temps were in the teens at the trailhead, upper 30's during the day, and finally rising to near 40's at lower mid elevations by late afternoon.

Snow Characteristics Comments
Mixed bag snow conditions reign supreme but up high good powder can still be found on NW-N-NE aspects. On steeper slopes it is possible to trigger some, loose, dry, sluffs. They are pretty benign, but watch the steep break-overs and beware of cliffs below. Corn snow can be found on south facing slopes. By afternoon, snow on south facing and mid-low elevations are getting soft and it is possible to trigger small, loose, wet sluffs. We didn't observe any natural wet activity. In general, the snowpack is mostly stable.
Avalanche Problem #1
Problem
Wet Snow
Problem #1 Comments
Wet snow avalanches remain possible as the day heats up but these are small and predictable. By afternoon, we were able to trigger small sluffs on steeper slopes. Work the sun and get off exposed slopes as they start to get wet and mushy.
Comments
I know everyone is bored with the current weather pattern, but I was thrilled to have the opportunity to really get around and cover some terrain in my old stomping ground. The overall stability, pleasant weather, and good snow conditions up high made for a perfect day in the mountains!
