Red Flags Comments
"As the snow surface starts to freeze slide for life conditions will become a problem." Been skiing around here a long time and usually don't worry about sliding on 20 degree slopes, hoping nobody gets into trouble out there! Was having fun skiing the lowest angle slopes I could find across from Alta. It was easy to stay low angle because it was very difficult to skin up anything even moderately steep due to the nasty rain crust. I had taken 4 runs and hadn't seen any snow move. On the 5th run I skinned up the low angle below Toldedo chute, on the way down I caught an edge on the ice and fell and next thing I new I was accelerating out of control as the new snow sliding on the ice pushed me down the slope.. Pushed into some trees (scary) but was fine. Don't underestimate this rain crust!

Problem #1 Comments
New snow is not bonded well to the new snow anywhere it hasn't already slid off.
