Headed up to Cardiac Ridge from BCC to see if there was any activity with the Sunday, Monday storm, there was up to 4 separate avalanches that broke into old snow on the ridge, all originating in the upper more northerly chutes at the top and it seemed wind loading was the culprit and that they pulled out toward the end of the storm. The largest one ran a little less than half track and they all seemed to stop once they hit the more easterly section of the slope that is not harboring the amount of depth hoar that the shady steep NE was. We did not note any sighs of instability today except one small settlement but a quick hand pit in a section of the main line off the top of the ridge that had not avalanched revealed a very weak snow structure with depth hoar at the base, a place I will not venture to when we get our next load of snow. There was also evidence of some long running sluffs that ran naturally up to 800ft during the storm.
