Comments

First I would like to apologize for my portrait photos. I will try not to make that mistake next time. I hiked around early this morning in the Park City mountains. The snow was a little heavy with some density inversion but still very skiable. At 9000 ft on a north facing slope ~32 degrees I measured 75 cm depth. My compression test resulted in an easy density inversion failure in the new snow as well as a moderate failure at the new snow/old snow interface. Both failures were resistant. The snow on the ground was wet rather than faceted. In the distance, I noticed a D1+ slide on a steep north east facing slope that appeared to have failed either before or during this storm cycle.
