Travel today was up over Cardiff Peak, LSB NE facing, Hansen's, Cardiac Ridge and the exit out of the Room of Doom in upper Mineral Fork. The new snow was pretty well bonded to aspects with out a melt-freeze crust underlying it, sluffing of the new snow was common on the steeper terrain with a slick bed surface. Did note one skier triggered soft slab in the left ventricle of Cardiac Bowl, but the new snow was so light it was not much of a worry. The underlying snow consisted of a melt-freeze crust, on southerly aspects, supportable wind crust on wind affected slopes and soft settled powder on sheltered slopes. Seemed like every steep line got skied in Cardiff today without incidence, even saw speed flyers, straight liners, and one guy ski the whole lenght of Cardiac Ridge backwards, which was a pretty cool maneuver, even skied it fall line. Think Brett was spot on with his hazard rating today, didn't note any red flags. Once out of the Room of Doom snow amounts dropped to around 3 inches down lower, with nothing down close to the trail exit.
