Took another trip to Cardiff in search of skiing, new snow is moderately dense and was getting wind affected adding to the density. Sluffing in the new couple of inches was common on steeper slopes. The wind slabs were not cracking when provoked but that might change with more wind. The new snow from the last couple little storms seems to be well bonded to the old surface in the terrain covered. The old crusts were still felt on steeper slopes and south facing but the dense snow kept you off the bottom on lower angled terrain. More wind and a decent amount of new snow may increase the hazard by tomorrow afternoon, the wind was cranking in the afternoon, transporting snow on the ridge lines and well down into the drainage bottoms, and filling in tracks about as fast as you could make them. Photos, sluffing in the new couple inches of snow, wind blasting on Cardiac Ridge, lower Cardiac Bowl, wind ripples down low in the drainage, clouds dropping in in the afternoon, all of upper Cardiff.
Moderate for tomorrow depends on wind and new snow amounts.
