Weather Comments
Thin fog persisted throughout the day from about 6500' to 7800'. A sudden spectacular transition from fog to clear blue sky occurred above 7800' just before the prominent knob on Rodeo ridge (at about 7880') and provided inspiring views up to the divide, toward the western Unitas, east to James peak, and south the Durst peak.

Powder
Snow Characteristics Comments

Although the air temperatures remained below 32 F, solar radiation penetrating the fog warmed the surface layers of the snow, making the powder feel sticky and upside down.
