Good refreeze down to 7000 (at least) last night. Even at 9am north facing slopes were quite hard and slick, although at that hour, anything in the sun was softened and presented quite a friendly surface for skinning and skiing, although the perfect corn harvest was an hour or so later. Mid-elevation north facing slopes that weren't in shadows got into the act by 11:00 or so. The skiing was a perfect spring paradise, as it has been all week. The relevant avalanche news is that the major wet slide cycle seems to have run itself out. I haven't observed new debris all week, and steep south facing slopes seem to have given up most of their depth already. This isn't to say there isn't hazard lurking in the coming days of super warm temperatures, but the mountains did seem quite user friendly today, and I think that for the next day or so with decent refreezes, the first half of the day should present skiers and mountaineers with very favorable travelling conditions on all aspects, even under or in the big slide paths. Forecasted afternoon highs are significant, though, so a noon departure from steep terrain is prudent.
