Went to No Name to see if the slab had broken down since I avalanched it out on last Friday. Probing in the starting zone revealed that there was no slab present. One of my reasons for going back to No Name was to use the old slide in the gut as a safety valve if the un- avalanched portion of the bowl pulled out. Skiing hang fire is a learned practice and can come in handy with conditions like we have this year. Probably would not have skied it without the safety valve. That being said the 6 to 12 inches of new snow in the bed surface is completely faceted and I would not be surprised to see a repeater avalanche on the same bed surface with a proper load. Photos.

Skiing the hang fire on both sides of the old slide.

Exposed rime on the ridge line.

Wet activity on south facing.
