Comments

Went back to No Name today to see first of all if it had a slab, second to see if it was faceted out to the dirt. Upon arrival noticed my that you could still see my old tracks from the last high pressure period. Did not like the looks of the skier right side which was winded and looked like it could have a slab, headed down the ridge to where my old tracks were and started to probe the pack with my pole. Pretty much the same deal as last time I was there, starting zone was faceted through the entire pack with no slab present. Continued cautiously to probe down the slope for signs of a slab as I descended, it became obvious there was no slab present and skied the slope with out incident or regret. That being said I have a pretty good handle on the snow pack in this bowl, have been here two times previously. Still did not want to mess with skiers right side seemed a bit more suspect, and I have no tolerance for any thing steep with even a thin slab on facets. Photos, Faceted surface, sluffing easily, some facet- alanches, and debris, initiated with cornice drops, surface facets shinning in the sun.

Took a pic of the controlled slide in Scotts (I think), In PCMR. Looks to have gone to the ground.

Same as my last observation, considerable if there is a slab on facets, moderate in all other terrain.
