Comments

It was a very warm day in the Uintahs. There is a rime crust on most exposed terrain. The snow pack is quite a bit better for riding now that it has settled a little. I dug a pit up high on Duke at 10400 facing NW on a 30 degree slope. I observed a stout wind slab mid pack which I've not seen anywhere else but the area is not entirely sheltered. My ECT failed to produce any results however I was able to get a compression test to fail CTM Q2 RP 12 @ 78 cm from the base. I also observer a large natural on the NE face found here http://utahavalanchecenter.org/avalanches/19368
