Comments

Had not been to the main face of Gobblers in a while, Skied the Dead Snag first surprised to find only 2.5 to 3ft of snow on it, between the avalanche that occurred at the end of December and the wind constantly scouring the run I guess it makes sense. The shallow snow pack has quite a bit of loose facet buried in it but there is just not enough weigh or any sort of slab to make it reactive. probably not a good run if it ever receives a big load, but it would have to be a fairly large load for any sort of avalanching, might never happen this year. Pic the Dead Snag run and settlement cones at the bottom.

Did note some wet activity on SE facing Apex Peak in West Porter, think it might have occurred Monday. Also some sluffing on the Main Porter rock slabs. No instabilities noted today. Pics, wet activity, sluffs on the rock slabs.
