The shady aspects of the Abajo Mountains were still holding 12"-16" of fresh champagne snow, with about a 60" base. The southerly aspects had settled to less than a foot of new snow, and the base was around 37". Most aspects had a wind crust layer under the new snow. Snow pit tests were producing yellow light conditions, failing on that crust layer. As we would expect, the bottom 6-8 inches of the snow pack is rotten to the ground. No natural activity was observed yesterday morning...
