Cinder Chutes. Aspect- NE-SE. Elevation 9500 ft. Slope Angle-38-50 degrees. Vertical 700 ft. Characteristics- Aspects of these chutes are SE in the skiers left chute( Son of Cinder) and wrap around to NE in the right chute. This gives this area characteristics of a northerly facing slope as well as a southerly. A large cornice is common above the right side chutes. Most slides that are less that 1 ft deep stop at the bench above the road or in the road. Starting zone on USFS land. Not within area boundary. Information from the the Snow Avalanche Atlas, Canyons Resort 1998. NOTE- Photos enhanced to show sloughs.
