I intentionally walked on the wind slab on the ridgeline in a safe zone, saw the shooting cracks to the rollover. The avalanche released on the thinner snowpack on the buried cliff bands and the crown traveled along the ridgeline between the runs Liz's Slide and Heaven's Gate. It was hard to get good photos and I could not see the debris below, so the Rsize and Dsize are estimates. I also was unable to see how far it ran. But I did see it happen and it moved FAST.
  • Photo 1: shooting cracks from the ridgeline
  • Photo 2: walked uphill some to see crown between Liz's Slide and Heavens Gate
