Comments
We skied up Bunchgrass today to get some laps on Chicken Hill. We found up to 15 inches of fresh snow, much more snow than expected- a welcome surprise.
We dug a pit at 8500 ft, on a NE facing slope. We found the new/old snow interface fairly reactive with a CT score of 15. The first failure (CT 11 Q3) was on the interface between what we believe to be yesterday's snow and the snow that fell overnight and today. The second failure happened beneath the crust that formed from the long dry spell. Our ECT showed full propagation between yesterdays snow and the snow that fell overnight/today. We got no propagation on the old snow/new snow interface.
