Snow Profile Comments
New snow accumulation of > 1"/hour from pre-Christmas storm caused D1 dry loose slides early in the day - not requiring a lot of snow to begin speaking to us on the bootpack.
Comments
Climbed up Country Lane when we noticed some natural avalanche activity occurring around us, mostly due to the new snow/poor cohesion to the surface. Started to ascend around 0715 when natural slide activity (D1 size) occurred halfway up the chute @ 9400' around 0800. New snow was sliding off of ice-crusted rocks into the chute off the South Ridge, as well as from the coulie on looker's right. It is clear that isolated terrain will be a major problem all season if poor cohesion continues in our snowpack.
