Comments
Looks like a few new inches from the holiday storm with maybe around 4-6" depending on elevation. The lower elevation areas like around the Whitney turn-off are still very thin on snow cover with about a foot or so up in Whitney Basin. Some of the grassy meadows and forest roads have a little snow to travel on, but the conditions are still early season with lots of trees and rocks just barely covered. UDOT has been plowing the highway the last few storms, but not sure how much longer.
The snow pack is thin with poor structure right now and any storm with heavy snow and wind will likely overload the weak sugary faceted layers. The Uintas still need a couple good storms to fill in all the rocks and rough terrain.
