Avalanche Problem #1
Problem
Normal Caution
Problem #1 Comments
While setting a skin track up the east side of peak 8802 (after skiing the bowl/glades to skiers right of peak 8802) we noticed that the snow pack was a few inches of fresh powder on top a dense hard pack. In the skin track, it looked as if the whole snowpack was moving downhill in that every tree had a few inch gap (3-6") between the tree's downhill aspect and the snowpack's uphill aspect. I did not have my phone to take pictures. I don't know the 'problem type' so I just put 'normal caution.
