Problem #1 Comments
There was between 4-12" of new, low density snow with higher elevations heavily favored. For the most part, the new snow was behaving well and didn't sluff except in high angle terrain. Sluffs usually only ran maybe 20' before stopping but I did have one run about 100'. Depending on how much snow we get this evening, you could maybe find a small isolated slab but it is unlikely.
Comments
Started working my way over to Maybird about 0930 today under cloudy skies. By 1100 is was snowing heavily with very little visibility. The new snow sits on top of a pretty stout melt/freeze crust which makes it difficult to skin up anything steep. Skiing was fun and surfy on lower angle terrain. I intentionally started a few sluffs and had one run naturally right next to me so this new snow is certainly active but it is so low density that it is unlikely to do anything to a person. Sorry no photos due to almost no visability.
