Avalanche Problem #1
Problem
Wet Snow
Problem #1 Comments
Recent cornice falls off the south ridge of Mt. Magog. No other signs of wet avalanches in the Tony Grove Area, but this evening I could see a few recent long running natural sluffs of moist snow in upper Logan Dry Canyon.
Comments
We found stable snow, with pretty nice powder conditions even in the afternoon on upper elevation north facing slopes. The sun popped out from under clouds for short periods, but temperatures stayed pretty cool. There was a fair amount of graupel in some of today's squalls.
We parked our sleds at the saddle between Chicken Hill and White Pine Knob because motorized vehicles aren't allowed in Bunch Grass drainage.
