Wind picked up as we were leaving, going to moderate, and transporting snow on open slopes above 8000 feet.
ridge top winds were higher and out ofthe west to South west.

The higher exposed slopes was being loaded, and have had a recent avalanche. The rain crust was found at 8500 feet to 9000 feet. Did not look at snow pack at the higher evelations. Wind looked like it had stripped the new snow pack. and there was evidence of a wind packed slopes.

Pit is 63 cm, The surface was moderate density of graupel and broken crystals over a rain crust. Below rain crust was the same as we have seen four finger to the ground. The facet layer on the ground was forming chains and getting stronger.
