Forecast for the Skyline Area Mountains

Brett Kobernik
Issued by Brett Kobernik for
Tuesday, December 29, 2015

Most of the terrain around the Skyline has a MODERATE avalanche danger today. A CONSIDERABLE danger still exists in the higher steep northwest through east facing terrain where a human triggered avalanche may break to the ground. The snowpack is more stubborn and you may not see obvious signs of instability like cracking and collapsing. Tracks on a slope don't mean it won't avalanche. These type of deep instabilities often allow numerous riders on a slope before it avalanches.
