Current Conditions: Under clear skies, temperatures cooled enough over the last 12 hours to freeze the snow in the higher terrain. On the surface, you'll find a frozen heat crust varying in thickness from place to place. Overnight temperatures dipped below freezing. The wind has been light to moderate in speed from a southerly direction. There was a short period overnight with stronger gusts but things have really slowed this morning.

Mountain Weather: A large low pressure trough off the California coast will affect our area today through the weekend. For today anticipate increasing clouds, ridgetop temperatures into the upper 30s, and moderate speed wind from the south. It may feel a little breezy along the exposed terrain. We could see some minor precipitation late this afternoon and evening but I'm not anticipating any real accumulation. The storm continues moving in Thursday and Friday and it looks like the best chance for snow is Friday night into Saturday where we might actually pick up some measurable snow.
