Recent Avalanches

After a natural avalanche closed the road in Huntington Canyon on Monday, UDOT snow safety brought down more with explosives that also crossed the road leaving healthy sized piles of debris. LINK TO VIDEO OF AVALANCHE REDUCTION WITH EXPLOSIVES.

There was also a natural avalanche reported that released sometime Tuesday morning near Electric Lake. It was fairly deep and may have broke on a surface hoar layer which caused another sizable avalanche in that area last Friday.
