Comments

Good riding. Lots of people out again today. I looked in a lot of places for the buried surface hoar and found it only in an isolated spot but made me really think and be cautious about where I am going and building in more safety margins. The new snow does seem to be bonding well with the old snow in most places. No signs of recent avalanches in the Cutler/Willard Basin. I found the buried surface hoar on our exit so I was not able to really test its propagation propensity. The burried surface hoar is approximately 14 in down. Here are some photos from the day.

Moderate becoming considerable with wind and in areas that have buried surface hoar. NE-NW aspects in sheltered areas.
