Problem #1 Comments
Wind was blowing mostly from the West/Southwest, well below ridgelines with obvious signs of transport. At around noon it did appear that winds changed direction for a brief period of time. Exposed ridgelines have been stripped of snow. For example, on the ridge between Scott Hill and Asia Bowl, it appeared all the snow had been stripped down to the rocky summer surface. Saw signs of wind loading on a wide variety of terrain features

Problem #2 Comments
At the start of the tour the snow was damp at around 8800 feet. The travel was surprisingly easy on both the up and the down. At around 9500 on wind sheltered terrain the skiing was pleasant, and was starting to become damp. At the time of exit at around 8800 feet the snow felt saturated.
Comments
Had a good tour from the guardsmen gate to scotts pass. Then skied the low angle trees and a small meadow on Scott's back door. The skiing was really good. With tons of surfy smooth turns. I was surprised by this fact, based on the 47 degree temperature at the start of the tour and the high winds. With the strong winds, new snow, and rapid warming of the last couple of days, I opted for low angle, sheltered terrain and had a wonderful day out.
