Comments
We made it to 8800 bowl today after the big avalanche cycle with two fatalities in Utah. Considerable danger today.
Dug a pit and observed faucets to 30cm total hs 100cm. Had rounds on top of faucets then a rain crust and snow going 4 to 3 fingers hard to the top where it was snowing today.
We dug our pit off of a sub ridge at 8700 feet but I remote triggered a wind slab at the same elevation onthe main ridge pic included.
We skinned up for another run after observing decent stability in the bowl. No red flags noted.
The weak layer is there and at the ground it is moist and we didn't get any results in our pit but I still have suspicions.
We traveled in between islands of safety and tried to minimize hazards from above.
