Stout and slick ~1cm rain crust up to about 8,700' this morning from last night's rain. You could hear your sled skis breaking the crust over the sound of the engine. Snowpack at around 9k' is around 1 meter deep and hilariously upside down. When you step off your sled you go straight through the new dense storm snow all the way to the ground. We had collapsing/whoomphing anywhere we went that hadn't already been ridden by sleds, shooting cracks, etc. Widespread avalanches observed on E-NE-N slopes above 9k' on the PWL, as noted in my avalanche ob from today.
Grey skies and flat light today, warm temps, very little wind where we traveled this morning.
