Went up to the PC Ridgeline today for a look at No Name Bowl. The thinking was that it would not have a slab because of the topography and wind loading direction. Saw a skier triggered avalanche on Scott's Peak and put that on the avy list. Once we got to NN we had a look at the slope, the only spot in that bowl that gets wind loading from SW-W winds is the far skiers right, we continued down the ridge which is fully wind protected from SW wind loading by a forest of mature pines. It was fairly easy to see that there was no wind loading and some probing revealed weak snow on top of weaker snow in the main bowl. The snow in the starting zone was exceptionally weak all the way to the dirt and we got a few facet sluffs in the steeper upper section. Right now it seems like if there's no slab there's no problem but if there is a slab there's serious problem. I don't recommend people that aren't intimate with loading patterns and slab formation of suspect slopes try to guess what the outcome will be, better to just let things sit for a bit and see what happens. In the photo you can see the obvious wind break from the thick forest.
