Problem #1 Comments
At around 30cm there is a dense layer with very poor bonding both below and above it. In my Snowpit it ranged from 2 to 5 cm. while digging the pit the layer wanted to fall out in chunks which showed how poorly bonded to the adjacent layers it was. In both tests the layer was reactive but in Both ECTs there was no propagation (one ECT not listed due to lack of quality). Due to the crumbly nature of the layer and only around 30 cms of snow on top it, it could be that the layer in this spot did not have the ability to carry the energy with the amount of slab on top. With More load this could change however with the notable faceting that is probably occurring, the snow on top could weaken during this dry spell.
On the approach there was only collapsing on top of brush that were acting as facet farms. In some hand pits I found much more aggressive faceting at these points, as expected. Throughout the moonbeam zone there seamed to be 20-30cms of snow down low progressing to 60-80cms around 8500'.

Problem #2 Comments
In the steeper section of the moonbeam zone, what appeared to be previous natural releases (4) of wind drifted snow were observed. All seemed to originate right below rock bands. The most notable (pictured) ran around 300' on a NE aspect. SS-N-R2-D1. Other (6) previous releases of similar nature were observed in the room of doom zone.
