Comments
Went back to Cardiac Ridge today. There was around 8 to 10 inches of new low density snow from yesterday's storm, mostly non wind affected. Dug a quick pit at 10,500ft NE facing. Total snowpack was around 2 ft with light density on top gradually getting denser while working down the pack. Towards the bottom there is a melt freeze crust from a previous storm a few weeks back, and some isolated facets right on the dirt, halfway down the slope the crust disappears and the remaining snow is from the last 3 storms. Looks fairly benign right now but with such a thin snowpack it won't take long for the upper part of the pack to start faceting with some cold clear nights. There was evidence of a small windslab pulling out in one of the upper chutes but it did not travel very far.
