Snow Characteristics Comments
Maybe a couple inches this morning on top of about 14" or so from the weekend storm. The snow conditions out there right now are excellent with easy traveling on a solid base and good quality snow making for very nice riding and turning. Should be good long spring season and the coverage is great.
Red Flags
Red Flags Comments
No red flags checked and the winds where I traveled today were generally light and not drifting snow. Could be more wind issues at higher elevations, but just a few places where some cracking of wind drifts as I moved along the ridge line.

Problem #1 Comments
The winds today seemed to be on the decline as I was out this afternoon, it was a little chilly in spots with the slight breeze, but no snow moving around. There has been no shortage of wind the last several days and some cornices have grown large. The drifts I stomped on would just crack and it felt like they were settling out quickly. Maybe a new round with tomorrows small storm.
Comments
Just some minor cracking of wind drifts along the exposed ridges in Gold Hill, these were not much of an issue today.
Still able to locate this heat crust on a northeast aspect around 10,000' and there are some faceted grains at this layer. It took almost 30 hard hits before the column would crack and propagate across the column on the faceted snow. Interesting was the compression test where the column failed while I was cutting the back of it. Not really sure how to digest the CT results, but a layer to watch and see going forward.
