Comments
Today we had a good tour in Millcreek.
Cold start in the shade, under clear skies, and calm wind. Cold powder still exists on all aspects and elevations, with slight warming taking place on the direct solar aspects. As we traveled into the higher terrain, we noticed the rapid settlement of the latest storm snow, 6-8" cones around many features. Not much of a slab in the areas we traveled today. Just deep powder. We rode a few steeper runs with only minor sluffing in the steepest terrain. A few of our runs were on old existing bed surfaces, from old avalanches from the first of February. The Avalanche on Gobblers is spectacular, and we happen to run into a few of the forecasters who were investigating the slide, great to see you guys out there!
