Our Rec 2 group dug four pits on a NW aspect at 9800' in upper White Pine. After five ECTs had no propagation, we did a Deep Tap Test that failed on isolation SP. We also did a propagation saw test with a PST60/100 End result. All snowpits had poor structure with F hard snow on the bottom. Height of snow ranged from 150cm to 225cm. We had three CTNs and one CT20 SC in the most shallow pit. These results are exemplary of our current scary moderate conditions. We are not out of the woods yet, but areas with higher HS seem to be doing quite well, although propagation is still possible and the DDL remains weak. The good visibility today allowed for viewing multiple loose wet avalanches running D2 and many more running D1 above terrain features with high consequence. Photo of a loose wet at 10k' W aspect in White Pine taking out part of a skin track.
