Red Flags Comments
In terms of red flags - we only saw one or two very shallow and small soft slabs of wind drifted snow that had released (photo below). No collapsing or cracking. None of the wind drifts we rode across cracked either. We felt totally comfortable riding in and under very big avalanche paths.
Comments
Overall great snow, great weather, and great stability. The crust/facet layer from Jan 23 or 26 would not break in stability tests. However, a more shallow layer of RR facets under a crust from Jan 31 would consistently break (ECTP14 - see video below). This layer should get enough heat this week to heal. Additionally we did not see any cracking or other signs that this layer is a problem, but it's worth just making a note of for now.
Video
The snowpack is deep, strong, and stable (nothing new). This was very apparent when my riding partner cut a three foot deep trench on top of a 40 degree slope. The snow was just glued in place. While this doesn't count as anything official, I just don't typically see the snow allow a sled cut a trench quite like this.
