Problem #1 Comments
There was a recently skier-triggered avalanche on a SW aspect in Toledo Bowl (~1' deep, 100' wide) that has already been reported, so I won't repeat that here. That avalanche looked to have failed on the facet crust layer described in the forecast from this morning. I skinned up the center of Toledo Bowl, digging several hand pits on S and SE aspects between 9300-9800'. In those I found a thin decomposing crust layer 2-2.5' below the surface, and found that snow felt well bonded through that layer. I dug a test pit on a SE aspect at 10,000' and got ECT N (no propagation) 25 on that layer, which was 2' below the surface. Overall I found that layer seemed unreactive on the S and SE aspects where I observed it. This suggests that avalanche hazard related to that facet-crust layer is quite localized to SW and W aspects.

Wind Drifted Snow

Problem #2 Comments
I stomped on a couple wind drifts on SE aspects on the ridge line on the W side of Toledo Bowl and got some minor cracking/sliding. The drifts cracked about 6" below the surface and slid a maximum of 20 feet down the slope. Winds were light at the time (1pm) and there was no wind transport happening.
