Did a full profile on the ridge to Grandview above Bountiful/Farmington.
Results were worrying. HST is 80cm @ ~8500 ft. ECT proved very reactive at ECTP15. Failed on faceted layer 60cm down. Facets show no signs of rounding at the moment. (see picture)
As of now, it doesn't seem there is enough weight on top of this snowpack, but with next week's anticipated precip, I worry this snowpack may have the scales tipped. It's worthy to note that when traveling in the more obscure areas of the Wasatch, one should be diligent in assessing the snowpack structure as a completely new place. The UAC has been diligent about driving home the point that there are many nuances in the Wasatch right now, but it's worth noting over and over again.
