Comments
The snow pack is starting to get some depth to it at upper elevations about 45" on the north, north east slopes and has picked up about 15" of that in the last week. I preformed a sheer test today which failed at the faceted layer on the first pull, then performed an ECT test. The column failed at 22 on the faceted layer. In both tests the upper layers were well bonded and stayed together as a slab after breaking. I forgot to share last week but when performing the same test only feet away from this site the column failed on isolation on the first test and then failed at 3 on the next attempt. Indicating that the upper layers are getting stronger but still sitting on a very weak layer and slopes of 30 degrees or more should be avoided still.
