Comments
We dug a pit on a northeast face, at 9400', near the summit. The shovel hit sagebrush quite quickly, but the top 14" of the snowpack showed poor structure, sitting on a fist-sized cavity of facets. We dug the pit on a lower angle section of the run and had a collapse while transitioning. We picked our way down the evergreen run, avoiding the gullies and trying to keep it low-angle, experiencing about 6 scary whoomphs. Cracks were present with the collapses but didn't propagate more than 10 feet.
features evergreens and 3 distinct gullies.
