Weather Comments
Sky went from Few>CLR>BKN>X between 0800-16:00, light winds from the NW, very high RH producing riming and surface hoar. I traveled between grizzly, patsy, wolverine cirque and TLP and observed varying amounts of SH and rimed SH on snow surface. No rime crust but 1-3mm SH and rimed SH was present, even along ridge lines. It was not being affected by short periods of sun or the light winds where I traveled. A few flurries starting around 14:00.

Comments
Over the last week I have seen 1-2cm SH in flat cold sinks where SH commonly develops. Today I noted surface hoar in unusual places. The new SH today is small (1-3mm) and widespread where I traveled between 9,200'-10,600' E-N-NW, smaller grain in the trees and larger grain along the ridgeline. Something to keep in mind w/ the light forecasted winds leading into the small storm Friday. If the SH is destroyed, the FCsf will surely get buried (seeing 1-6cm of FCsf on northerlies)
Riming on rocks and trees
SH and rimed SH on snow surface on Patsy ridgeline.
