Comments
Not as much new snow in Mineral available for transport, while the winds did seem to be cranking up high, on the mid-elevation ridgeline I saw very little transport happening today and the cornices in Mineral hadn't shown any recent signs of failing. The main concern I had today in Mineral was the wet snow. Everywhere we traveled the snow surface was damp, I would expect wet activity to increase with the prospect of rain and another night without a proper refreeze. While we didn't see very much wet activity where we traveled today, we did see plenty of rollerballs and pinwheels - and during our exit were able to kick off small wet-loose slides on almost every steep rollover. The wet snow seemed to be failing on a firmer damp crust about 20cm down, but the snow both above and below it was damp as well.
A pinwheel almost as tall as me...
Roller Balls below cliff bands
The wet snow on top of the supportable crust
Small wet-loose above a steep drainage
