Comments
Went up the west face of the North Peak of Timp with the intention of riding the front porch c. Upon arriving, the winds were much stronger than anticipated from the SE loading all aspects, but especially NW & W. No cracking noted but we bailed on front porch and climbed and rode a rib just to the south of front porch. At 10.5k we dug two pits and ran an ECT. Non clean shear on 24, 30cm down. See pic. No facets at ground, but 30cm down had a small band of what appeared to be facets. The surf snow is also weakening. Main concern tomorrow will be wind loading and I would say above 10.5k it's considerable to trigger a small wind slab, below moderate danger. I don't leave obs often enough so sorry if this needs more info. Thanks for what you do!
