Travel today was Alta Guard to LSB NE facing then up Cardiac Ridge and into the Room of Doom in upper Mineral Fork, No Mongo And out to BCC. Sluffing in steep terrain was still the main activity today along with wet activity on the S facing aspects. The dry sluffs were less reactive than yesterday but I was still able to trigger them in steeper terrain. The wet activity was more pronounced, the skin trail up Cardiac Ridge was mostly taken out by wet slides by noon, might be time to realize it’s spring and it’s time to put the skin trail out more on the E facing than the SE facing under the rocks. I had minor dry sluffing while cutting into the entrance of the Room Of Doom but nothing to big or fast moving, most of the head wall in the Room had already sluffed naturally and the E and W facing also had sluffs. The biggest sluff noted was the one in No Mongo which was probably 100ft wife and ran about half track. Thinking the dry sluffing will be a thing of the past by tomorrow and the wet activity my be less pronounced also.
Photos: dry sluff on Cardiac Ridge, wet slides burying the skin trail, dry sluffs in the Room and No Mongo
