Comments
An interesting before/after composition of a natural avalanche on El Rollo in the Meadow Chutes. This is a steep, NE-facing rollover. In the "before" photo (taken on Saturday Nov 17), you can see this portion of the slope held weak, pre-existing snow. In the "after" photo (taken Sunday Nov 25) you can see this was the portion of the slope that avalanched, while other portions of the slope that did not have weak, pre-existing snow did not avalanche. This highlights how aspect makes a huge difference between one slope being safe, and another dangerous.
To transition between the two images, grab the slider bar and move it to the left or right and you will see the juxtaposition of the two images. This is an interesting tool for highlighting changes to the snowpack.
