we found deeper pack here than further north, very strong, but CT23 Q1 on surface hoar, NSF up 58 cm, really midpack, must have formed after Christmas Storm? Still would not propagate in ECT, strong enough to withstand any stress we could apply.

we stayed away from exposed ridge to ski, wind whales/slabs/drifting were prevelant along far west ridge, which is very exposed, some cracking observed, but stayed away from steep wind loaded pockets
a look at shallow sheltered snow in trees along uptrack, we found all types on our uptrack from sandbox weak snow, to hard slab with new snow not well bonded making climbing challenging in several areas.
