Comments

LOW danger observed in almost all locations. Steeper sunny aspects hold a melt-freeze crust. Much of the higher terrain has wind damage. Lots of wind damage noted in the bottom of Potters as well. There are still places that are holding soft snow. These are scattered through the drainages on northerly upper elevation terrain. Mid elevations are also holding soft snow from place to place.

I noticed that quite a bit of near surface faceting has occurred this week. It has formed a weak layer of snow on and near the current snow surface. You can find very weak snow on the surface and under the various crusts that are out there right now. This will be something we will want to pay close attention to before the next significant snow storm arrives. The snow that is now on the surface could act as a weak layer once it gets buried. This weak snow is not a concern for this weekend.
