Comments
Just got back from the LaSals and was thinking it might be the last day for dry snow anywhere around here. Decided to go to White Baldy, due N and and at a elevation of 11000ft. The only dry snow was on the high elevation due N all the snow on the trip in was either melt freeze crust, damp, or bullet proof. Saw a lot of wet activity from most likely yesterday and the day before, the W facing really took a hit with large debris piles and slippery bed surfaces shining in the sun.The high N was getting a little wind damage and also showing signs of dampening on my last run around 2:30. The low hazard was a great call today, the wind and clouds kept the wet activity from getting to crazy and the snowpack is as stable as it been all season. Got on some fairly steep terrain and couldn't buy a loose sluff and there's zero wind slabs up to this point in time. Photos: wet activity from the lat few days on W-NW facing and dry settled powder on the high N
