Snow Characteristics Comments
Traveled through all types of snow at the beginning of the day, mostly dust on crust. Found nice surfy powder on the high sheltered Norths, and then ended with nice shallow powder on a supportable surface all the way back to the trailhead.

Comments
Went to the West Monitor today, in hope of finding new powder mixed with old recrystallized powder on the sheltered North facing runs. Surprised to find 6"+ of new snow just below the ridge, and riding better then I anticipated. Made a few runs, in moderate snowfall, but with little wind, and no new avalanche hazard. Exit was back into Willow, with 4" of new snow on a supportable crust. Conditions vastly improving and travel was easy.
